Timber Barn Renovation

← Back to the Portfolio

We were asked by out client to renovate and extend a listed stone barn near Salisbury, Wiltshire.

The renovation included the re-building of the stone lower building. This was done using traditional techniques involving lime mortar to allow the building to breathe. The downstairs was then divided up to include a wine cellar and a tool store for the garden.

Above the original stone building a new, timber framed upper building was then added to form an office and map room. This new element was to be completely separate from the older, lower building and was to include high levels of insulation. We then added lighting, decorated throughout and installed carpets.
